From Mexico's Caribbean coast to the Rocky Mountains, from Brazil's beaches to the volcanic islands of Hawai'i, the Americas offer an extraordinary range of pole camps and retreats. Train barefoot on a beach one month and surrounded by mountain scenery the next — no other region matches this diversity.
The pole community across the Americas has exploded in recent years. A handful of annual events has become a year-round calendar spanning multiple countries, styles, and formats — exotic heels intensives in Mexico City, aerial retreats on the Pacific coast, sport pole camps in the Rockies, and immersive experiences in Brazil.
Mexico: The Americas' pole camp capital
Warm weather, stunning coastal settings, affordable travel, and a thriving local pole community have made Mexico the most popular destination for pole retreats in the Western Hemisphere.
Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya
Pole Dream Retreat runs an exclusive week-long camp in Playa del Carmen with a world-class lineup — Natasha Wang, Lydia Lee, and Daniel Sotillo. Three distinct teaching styles — elegance and power, flow and sensuality, precision and energy — create a well-rounded training experience against white sand beaches and turquoise waters.
The area also hosts Exotic Generation Mexico in Playa del Carmen, so you can combine a camp visit with watching or competing in an international exotic pole championship.
Mexico City
Indi Pole Dance runs The SLINK Experience in CDMX — a five-day exotic pole retreat focused on sensual movement, connection, and performance. Cipher 2026, organized by Woolfsbane with instructors Slither Witch and Sarah Polerina, takes a more unconventional approach as a week-long journey designed "for dancers who move differently," using technique and exploration to uncover new dimensions of movement.
Baja California and Puerto Escondido
Politov Pole Camp runs retreats in Baja California Sur where you train with nine-time World Champion Dimitry Politov at Casa Tara Retreat. These eight-day camps include all meals, water pole sessions, flying pole, and transfers from Los Cabos and La Paz airports.
On the Pacific coast, Sweet Retreats Mexico operates year-round from their eco-chic resort in Puerto Escondido with an open-air circus gym. Their range is enormous: beginning and intermediate aerial retreats with silks, sling, and hoop; dedicated lyra retreats; rope and straps intensives with specialists like PJ Perry; flying pole and lyra camps; dynamic trapeze training; and all-levels aerial tool kit retreats. Every retreat includes the resort setting, pool, daily meals, and beach excursions.
Leon, Guanajuato
PoleStyle MX runs the PoleStyle Survivor Camp in the Sierra de Lobos near Leon — a four-day camp featuring Dimitry Politov and Olga Trifonova, combining international star instructors with outdoor workshops and community activities. Proof that Mexico's pole scene extends far beyond the beach towns.
United States: Coast to coast diversity
The US has the largest pole community in the Americas, and its camp scene reflects that scale — from massive multi-day events to intimate boutique retreats.
Rocky Mountain Pole Camp
Rocky Mountain Pole Camp offers five days of training in one of America's most stunning natural settings. Instructors like Mischka, Killa Kam, Corie Tracy, and Crystal Nardico deliver expert instruction amid mountain air and vast landscapes.
Las Vegas: Pole Expo and Desert Heat
Las Vegas Pole Camp combined with Pole Expo is a three-day intensive featuring a staggering lineup — recent editions have included Natasha Wang, Marlo Fisken, Estefania Jimenez, Coco Kehong, and over twenty other international names. It's one of the largest pole events in the Americas.
For a more focused experience, Desert Heat Pole Retreat offers three days of intensive heels training with four industry professionals providing twelve intermediate to advanced workshops. Their Inferno package handles all logistics — accommodation with pool, food, drinks, and transportation.
Hawai'i
Hawai'i Pole Studios runs a four-day retreat in Hilo with instruction from Claudia Renee and Amy Bond. Island paradise vibes with no passport required for US residents, plus the Big Island's volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, and black sand beaches.
Regional camps and festivals
Melanated Pole Fest in Seattle is the country's first all-BIPOC pole festival — four days of performances, workshops, and community spanning pole tricks, contemporary flow, flexibility, burlesque, vogue femme, chair dance, and more. Utah Pole Camp in Salt Lake City offers a full week of training. Team Basework runs intensive heels and basework camps in Fort Worth, Texas, with international instructors like Estefania Jimenez and The Pole Wizard. SADA Retreat takes dancers to New Orleans for workshops plus a cocktail tour and burlesque show in the French Quarter. The Self-Love Pole Retreat in Santa Fe combines movement with meditation and self-expression.
The Colorado Aerial Arts Summit in Boulder brings together aerialists for three days of workshops in silks, lyra, sling, straps, dance trapeze, aerial cube, duo apparatus, and rigging.
The Caribbean: Pole in paradise
Caribbean Pole Camp in Guadeloupe
Caribbean Pole Camp runs multiple themed weeks throughout the season — Old School Week with Estefania Jimenez and Doris Arnold, Pole Flow weeks with Wes Marx and Ms Lizard, and flow-focused camps with Dan Aerial and Louise Wawrzynska. Each week combines pole training with island activities: beaches, jungle hikes, whale watching, and surfing.
Guadeloupe is a French overseas territory in the Caribbean — tropical island beauty with French-influenced cuisine and culture. An underrated destination that pole dancers are steadily discovering.
Brazil: Where pole meets passion
Brazil has one of the most passionate pole communities in the Americas. Natural beauty, vibrant culture, and strong dance traditions make it an exceptional destination.
Rio de Janeiro
Julianna Yau runs a week-long pole and yoga retreat in Rio de Janeiro combining flexibility and pole technique workshops with cultural excursions. Radiant in Rio offers a similar blend of training and local adventures with Julia Selawry. Pin Up Pole Studio runs their Experiencia Pin Up — a three-day immersion limited to sixteen students per class for intermediate and above dancers.
Ceara coast
Beach & Pole hosts a seven-day experience in Icapui on Brazil's northeastern coast, combining intensive workshops with international and national instructors, themed parties, showcases, photoshoots, and cultural exchange activities.
Brazil also hosts Exotic Generation Brazil in Rio de Janeiro for exotic pole competitors, while the IPSF World Pole & Aerial Championships have been held in Buenos Aires, putting South America firmly on the competitive map.
Chile: South America's growing scene
PoleCamp.Exotic runs a transformative weekend in Curico combining exotic pole and aerial artistry — workshops on style, strength, and confidence with sun, pool, and community energy. In southern Chile, Panguipolecamp Collective offers a three-day camp in Panguipulli focusing on exotic pole and acrobatics combined with nature immersion in the Lake District.
The Eclipsa Pole Cup in Medellin, Colombia, adds to the growing South American competitive scene with categories spanning six skill levels.
What makes pole camps in the Americas special
Geographic diversity
Caribbean beaches, mountain lodges, desert resorts, tropical rainforest, Pacific coastlines, vibrant city studios — no other region offers this range. The Americas stretch from the Arctic to near the Antarctic, and the pole camp scene takes full advantage.
Strong aerial arts crossover
The Americas lead the world in aerial arts retreats. Sweet Retreats Mexico alone covers silks, lyra, rope, straps, trapeze, and flying pole. The Colorado Aerial Arts Summit is one of the most comprehensive aerial conventions anywhere. If you want to cross-train beyond pole, this is where you'll find the most options.
Community and inclusivity
Melanated Pole Fest broke ground as the first all-BIPOC pole festival. The Self-Love Pole Retreat centers body-positive practices and self-expression. Team Basework creates intensive community experiences around heels and basework. The culture at American pole events tends to be warm, welcoming, and focused on celebrating everyone's journey.
Planning your trip
Best times to visit
Mexico and the Caribbean are best November through April. The US has camps year-round — winter events in Nevada and Texas, summer camps in Colorado and Utah. Brazil's northeast coast is sunny nearly year-round, while Rio is best September through March. Chile's season follows the Southern Hemisphere summer, December through March.
Combining camps with travel
A camp in Playa del Carmen pairs naturally with Mayan ruins or cenotes. Rocky Mountain camps connect to hiking and national parks. A Brazil retreat is a gateway to the Amazon or Iguazu Falls. Many dancers build longer trips around camp dates, and travel infrastructure across the Americas is generally excellent.
Visa and logistics
Mexico is visa-free for most nationalities with direct flights from across North America and Europe. Brazil has simplified its visa process in recent years. Chile is visa-free for most Western passport holders. Guadeloupe, as French territory, follows EU entry requirements. Always check current visa requirements for your nationality before booking.
